Bill joined NABCO in September,2008, after a 38 year career as a practicing CPA. His long public accountingcareer enabled him to provide outside services for many Chattanooga contractorsas well as manufacturing, industrial and individual clients. That career enabledhim to meet Nickey Bowman, NABCO’s founder, and to become life-long friends aswell as the professional relationship.
As the CFO, Bill’s focus is thefinancial function of NABCO which includes financial statements, bankingrelations, insurance and bonding, customer and vendor business relations,licensing and other matters related to the financial aspect. He feels blessedto be at NABCO with the quality of staff and the integrity of the owners andstaff.
Bill has been married to hiswife, Nancy, for 47 years. He was appointed by the Governor and served twoterms on the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy. He is a Rotarian, deacon of FirstPresbyterian Church, board member of the Salvation Army and active in manyfund-raising activities for non-profits. He has one son, David, and his wife,Karen.
Randy’s career in the electrical contracting industry began in 1988. He began as an estimator trainee quickly transitioning into other duties as a project manager shortly thereafter. Working with the same company for 17 ½ years before being hired at NABCO Electric in 2005, Randy brought his skills as a seasoned project manager and estimator to help insure the overall safety, quality and profitability on a variety of projects during his time with NABCO. Randy is licensed as an electrical contractor in the following states and municipalities: Alabama, Georgia, Georgia (low voltage) & the City of Chattanooga, TN. He is also a qualifying agent for NABCO Electric's contractors licenses in the following states: Florida, Florida (low voltage) and South Carolina.
Ben is the 3rd generation of NABCO, he is the son of Greg Bowman and grandson of Nickey A. Bowman. Ben grew up in the trade like his dad and uncle, and he officially joined NABCO in 2010. Ben graduated from Chattanooga Christian High school, and earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Ben has also completed the 5 year JATC apprenticeship training program and is a licensed electrician and electrical contractor in SC, TN, NC, AL, WV, and Ohio. Ben is a UT Vols fan, and he is an active member and volunteer at Calvary Chapel Chattanooga. Ben stays occupied working on projects around his house in Brainerd and enjoying life with Sara his wife of 5+ years and two sons Knox and Duke.
Darrell has been with NABCO for 16+ years as senior estimator. He was born in Cleveland, TN, and went to Bradley High School. Darrell was raised in the construction industry working as a carpenters helper, sheet metal worker, plumber and electrician. Darrell served in the United States Army and spent 42 years in the contractor market as a sales person and as an electrical contractor. He is an honorary member of the IEEE since 1974. Darrell also served as president of IES of East TN for two terms; and he has been happily married now for many years with one married son, a beautiful daughter in-law, and one super granddaughter.
Edwin has been at NABCO Electric continuously since June 8, 1978, when he started as a helper and went through the 4-year apprenticeship at JATC. He was foreman on many jobs in the field until May of 2004 when he became NABCO’s Field Operations Manager supervising a workforce ranging from 80 to 145 electricians and apprentices. Edwin Deals with not only issues related to manpower requirements and/or issues but he also ensures that the proper tools and equipment are available for whatever project requires them and ensures that the men are working safely and have the safety equipment they need. He and his wife, Tammie, have been married for 30+ years and are members of the Battlefield Parkway First Church of the Nazarene.
Tool, Material and Pre-Fab Manager
Andy was born and raised in Georgia, and he graduated from LaFayette High School In 1986. Andy worked For GE Corporation from 1986 – 1998, and he started working in the electrical contracting industry as an apprentice in 1999. Andy completed the inside wireman apprenticeship program with the JATC, and he is a licensed journeyman wireman. Andy worked primarily commercial early in his electrical career, with Johnson Electric, and after Johnson merged with Nabco Electric Andy was introduced to the world of controls and traffic signalization. Andy is known at NABCO as a good Journeyman to work under as he is always teaching younger electrical apprentices and he is always up for a challenge and eager to learn something new.
Mel joined NABCO Electric as Safety Director in August of 2008, after a distinguished 32-year career as an electrical engineer with E.I. Dupont Corporation in the corporate engineering group. His experience in leading/managing projects in Dupont’s capital budget program provided a broad base of exposure and involvement in Dupont’s Corporate Safety program/culture known as one of the safest in the world while setting world records for RIR (Recordable Injury Rate). Mel’s implementation of the various safety initiatives at Dupont, including “Behavior Based Safety”, offer a unique perspective in applying safety focus and tools in the electrical construction industry. Mel believes that we all are safety managers and leaders beginning with company owners on down and must be seen DOING safety.

Justin earned his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. He later went on to earn his MDiv from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC.
Justin has experience working in Telecommunications and Biomedical Instrumentation. He has also spent extensive time in South and Southeast Asia working in Physics Education.
